Musician | Audio engineer
Music director | Video editor
Jay Rosen is a musician, audio and video engineer, and multimedia content creator hailing from Philadelphia, PA. He is a pianist, guitarist, pedal steel guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist music director for theater and all musical styles.
A lifelong musician, Jay has over 25 years' experience as a pianist and 15 as a guitarist. He has always enjoyed learning new instruments and sharing them, often in non-traditional contexts. He has spent the last decade as a freelance musician, highlighted by two national tours and a series of regional theater productions. He was a founding member of Rachel Andie and the V Element and has been a frequent collaborative partner with Emily Drinker, Seth Aaron Jones, and many more Philadelphia songwriters.
With live performance disrupted by COVID, Jay returned to college and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Production from Temple University, having focused on podcasting, news, and live broadcasting. This mixed skill set of performance, technical skill, and editorial judgment is uniquely suited for the modern media marketplace. Along with his ongoing performance career, he works in the newsroom at KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia while also engineering music and audio in a variety of styles.
